The Ping Widget measures the HTTP Round Trip Time (RTT) to various data centers to identify the most viable connection for WebRTC services.
This test provides a general indication of the physical distance and network latency between the user's location and the available data centers. High RTT values often result in noticeable audio/video delays during clinical visits.
Data Collected and Shared
| Metric | Significance |
|---|---|
| Region | The specific data center location(s) being tested. Your configuration may show one or multiple regions. |
| RTT | Round Trip Time: The total time (in milliseconds) for a request to travel to the server and back. Lower values are better. |
Things to Notice
- Perceived Quality: The lower the round trip time, the better the perceived quality of the live interaction. Low latency is critical for natural, real-time communication.
- Optimal Thresholds: Generally, an RTT under 100ms is considered excellent for telehealth, while values exceeding 200ms may cause conversational overlap and lag.
