To ensure the longevity and accuracy of your TytoHome or TytoPro kit, follow these preventive maintenance guidelines for storage, cleaning, and software management.

1. Proper Device Storage

  • Software Shutdown: Always shut down the device via the software menu. Tap the three-dot icon at the top of the screen and select Shut Down.

*Note: Using only the physical power button can lead to faster battery depletion.

  • Battery Health: Store the device with a charge. We recommend re-charging it at least once every 3 months. Storing the device with a fully drained battery may permanently shorten its lifespan.
  • Environmental Limits:
    • Temperature: -20°C to 60°C (-4°F to 140°F)
    • Humidity: 15% - 70% (non-condensing)
    • Atmospheric Pressure: 700hPa to 1060hPa

2. Cleaning and Disinfection

The TytoCare device and all attachments should be sanitized between uses and before long-term storage.

  • Approved Material: Use standard 70% isopropyl/ethyl alcohol wipes or swabs.
  • Procedure: Ensure the device is powered off. Use a damp (not dripping) wipe to clean all exterior surfaces.
  • Drying: Allow all components to air dry for at least 2 minutes before use or storage.

3. Software and Firmware Updates

Keeping your device updated ensures you have the latest security patches and exam features.

  • Automatic Updates: The device must be paired to your network to receive updates. Pair and update your device before placing it in storage.
  • Manual Check: To verify your version, swipe down on the device screen, select About, and tap Check for Update. The device will reboot if an update is available.

4. Support and Warranty

If your device fails to detect updates or shows signs of hardware malfunction, contact support:

Maintenance Tip: Regularly cleaning the camera lens with a dry microfiber cloth (included in your kit) will prevent blurry images during ear and skin exams.
