Key Steps for Accuracy
- No Adaptor Needed: The temperature exam uses the built-in sensor on the front of the TytoCare device. Ensure no other adaptors are attached.
- Distance: Hold the device center-point 2 inches (5 cm) away from the forehead.
- Alignment: Ensure the patient's forehead is clear of hair, sweat, or headwear for an accurate reading.
- Technique: Aim the sensor at the center of the forehead and hold still until the device captures the reading.
Pro Tip: For unguided exams, you can manually trigger the reading once the device is in the correct position. If the room temperature is significantly different from the patient's previous environment, allow them to acclimate for 5 minutes.
