This knowledge article will provide you steps to perform an Ear Exam with your TytoHome device.

Ear Exam Steps
- Connect Adaptor: Connect the Otoscope to the Tyto Device. Align the blue dots for correct positioning.
- Secure Ear Cap: Place the Ear Cap (specula) on the Otoscope tip and turn clockwise to secure. Use 4mm for adults/older children and 3mm for children under 3 years old.
- Select Exam: Select the Ears icon. Choose the ear to be examined (Left or Right) and press Start to begin recording.
- Visualize: Once you have visualized the eardrum (refer to the reference image in the app), press Stop to end the recording.
- Next Ear: Repeat the process for the second ear, then press Done to finish the exam.
- Confirmation & Cleaning: Verify a check mark appears next to the ear exam on the main screen. Clean the Otoscope lens with rubbing alcohol after use.
Pro Tip: Gently pull the outer ear up and back to help straighten the ear canal for a clearer view of the eardrum.
